Admission Requirements

The formal requirement for admission to the Master's degrees in Informatics is a Bachelor's degree from a recognized academic institution (or completion of a full three years of study at university level, 180 ECTS) in the field of computer science, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering, or related disciplines.

Futhermore, good command of English is required. 

Special conditions applying for the various Masters: 

  • For the MSc in Applied Science, students with a Bachelor degree from a Swiss university of Applied Science are admitted without debits.
  • For the MSc in Computational Science, candidates should have fundamental knowledge in computer science, mathematics, numerical analysis, software development. Example: Bachelor in informatics with good mathematical knowledge, bachelor in mathematics with good knowledge in informatics, bachelor in engineering sciences or application area with good knowledge in mathematics and informatics.
    For candidates missing some particular knowledge, a "qualifying semester" could be introduced. In this semester, the master-candidates would attend selected Bachelor courses.
